Halloween Party, Part 6:

The Party Starts

By Stanley L. Alston, Jr.

Brunne exited her bus at the end of the block where she lives. The young filly then walked home. As she did, Brunne thought, 'Well, I better get to my homework, then get dressed for the Halloween…' She stopped and blinked when she saw two vehicles parked in front of the house, Whysper’s Hummer and a sports car. The young filly quickly noticed that both cars had their trunks opened, before she saw her house’s opened front door. 'Okay, what’s going on?' Brunne pondered, as she headed for the opened door. Before she had gotten too far, she heard a loud honk behind her. The filly’s eyes blinked again. She turned her head, soon seeing a new vehicle approaching the house. The approaching car appeared to be a 1972 Cadillac Hearse, which, based on its appearance, looked to had been modified. The vehicle was being driven by a gray Clydesdale stallion who had on his face a darker gray scar that went from the top of his muzzle to his left cheek. She then noticed inside the vehicle, seated in its front passenger seat, her mother, who was presently waving at her, and their present boarder, Boar-Ral, who was seated behind her mother in the car’s back passenger seat. Brunne blinked once more, as she got out of the car’s way, then waved back to her mother, as she watched the car start to turn into the driveway. 'Okay, now what’s going on here?' she pondered, just as she heard a voice behind her.

"Brunne, stopped starrin’ inta space, lass, n come ‘elp yer dad wit tae set-up for tae party."

The young filly turned her head once more and saw her sire standing in the open doorway, covered from the top of his head to his strong shoulders in what appears to be spider webs. Brunne stifled a snicker at James’ present appearance, before saying, "Uhm, hee hee, hi dad. Uhm, who’s that driving the car with mom and that Boar-Ral guy?"

James looked at the vehicle and the three equines inside it, as he started to pull the obviously fake webs off of his upper body. "Ye mother called aboot ‘im a short time ago, lass. Says ‘is name be Cedric. ‘e plans to ‘elp wit ye auntie Jessica’s magic act tonight."

The young filly blinked once more, this time in surprise. "Magic act? I didn’t know that ‘Auntie’ Jessica was a magician, dad." As she waited for her father’s reply to her query, Brunne saw out of the corner of her eye Cedric parking his car near the closed garage door.

"Actually, she use to be tae one tat be pulled out of tae magician’s ‘at, ‘oney, Or, so she claims," said James, as he pulled the last of the fake cobwebs out of his long brunette mane.

"Hold on, dad. You’re saying that she was the assistant?"

"Aye, so she says, lass," answered James, as he looked at the now parked car and watched the gray stallion exit it, along with Boar-Ral. He then watched the gray stallion walk over to the front passenger door, and then open it for Eva, before helping her out of it. 'Now tere be sometin’ ye donnae see everyday. Someone ‘elpin’ a female out of their car,' thought the stallion with an approving smile.

"I see, I think," replied the younger filly, as she started to scratch her long red mane, while she also looked at the car and watched Cedric close the door behind her mother, locked the car and then turned on the alarm. She and her father then watched the trio head towards them. "Hi, mom. Boar-Ral. Uhm, Mr. Cedric," she said to the approaching trio.

"‘ello, lad," added the stallion, as he holds the recently removed fake cobwebs in his left hoof.

As her family watched the approaching group, Eva, as she walked around the front of Cedric’s car, looked back at James and Brunne. Smiling, the older redheaded mare said, "Jamie, Brunne, ich vould like du zwei to meet Cedric, although obviously ich von’t haff to tell du zwei to say hi to him, ja?" After a short snicker, she then added, "As ich’d told Jamie over der phone, Cedric here will be helpink Jessica und her old freunds mit deir magic act." Eva then stopped in front of James and Brunne, before turning to face Cedric. "Cedric, dis ist mein stallion, Jamie, und mein jeune daughter, Brunne."

"Good day ta ye, lad," James said to Cedric.

"Hello, Mr. Cedric," added Brunne with a gentle smile.

Cedric, looking at the pair that were standing in front of the still opened front door, smiled at them and said, as he approached the brunette Clydesdale stallion with an open hoof in friendship, "Hello, James, nice to finally meet the husband of such a sexy looking mare."

As Eva blushed and Brunne snickered, while a silent Boar-Ral watched, James took Cedric’s hoof into his cobweb free hoof and with a firm grip, started to shake the gray Clydesdale stallion’s hoof. "Thankee lad, although ah tink tat tae lass already be knowin’ tat," James replied with a hearty laugh.

Eva, still blushing, and with a light snicker of her own, said, "Now cut dat out, Jamie."

Cedric laughed back at James’ comment, as he shook James’ hoof just as firmly as the brunette stallion was shaking his. "I’m sure she does." The gray stallion then looked at Brunne. Smiling at the pretty young filly as he ended the hoof shake with James, he said to her, "You look just as pretty as your mother does, Brunne. I bet you’ll be turning a lot of male heads in a few years."

It was now Brunne’s turn to blush. "Uhm, why thank you, Mr. Cedric."

"Please, call me, Cedric, Brunne. Mr. sounds a little too formal," said the gray Clydesdale stallion with a friendly smile.

"Uhm, if it is all the same to you, Mr. Cedric, I would rather not. I don’t know you long enough to just start calling you by your first name," replied Brunne.

Cedric laughed a little upon hearing that. "Well, if you don’t want to call me just Cedric, how about if you start calling me ‘Uncle’ Cedric instead, Brunne? Would that be alright with you, hon?"

The young filly thought it over. After a while, a smile appeared on her face, before she replied, "Sure, ‘Uncle’ Cedric will do just fine, Mr. Ce…uhm, ‘Uncle’ Cedric."

As Eva and James giggled, and Boar-Ral just continued to watch, Cedric walked up to Brunne and after stopping in front of her, proceeded to rub the young filly’s red mane. "Okay, my little ‘niece’," the stallion said with a light chuckle as the two older McEqquses continue to giggle.

"Hey, cut it out," said Brunne with a light chuckle of her own, as the gray stallion continued to ruffle her mane.

Still snickering, Eva looked at James. "Ist everythink ready for der party, Jamie?"

James looked back at Eva, also still chuckling. "Just aboot, lass. Only tae material for tae magic act needs to be put together. N ah vas plannin’ ta ask Brunne to ‘elp me wit tat."

Upon hearing James’ response to his wife’s question, Cedric looked at the other Clydesdale. "I would be delighted to help you with that little detail, James. I happen to have a little experience with that sort of thing, and I was planning to help Eva’s lovely partner and her equally lovely friends with their act anyway." As he asked, he stopped playing in Brunne’s hair.

Once she had felt Cedric’s hoof had stopped playing in her mane, the young filly tried to put her mane back in place. At the same time, she looked at her father and asked, "If that’s the case, dad, can I go into the house and do my homework?"

James looked back at Brunne. Smiling, he replied to her, "Sure, lassie, go ahead and do yer homework." James then looked back at Cedric. "Okay, laddie, ye can ‘elp me wit tae magic act equipment."

Brunne smiled. "Thanks, dad," she said to her father, before she headed for the front door.

Eva snickered. "Ich might as vell also go into der house since ich haff to get der goodies ready for der little ghouls und goblins dat’ll be showink up later tonight," she said, before she looked up into the sky, soon noticing the sun moving closer towards the horizon. The pretty Germanic-born mare then turned around and headed for the door, just as her daughter was running through it. "Brunne, don’t run in der house, dear."

Cedric smiled, as he watched the two females, especially Eva. "Good, let me get my stuff then," he said to James, before he turned around and headed for the back of his car.

After he had watched first Brunne run into the house and then Eva sashayed into it a few moments later, Boar-Ral, who had been quiet during the entire proceeding, looked at James and asked him, as Cedric reached his car, "May I help as well, Mr. McEqqus?"

James looked at the Friesian colt, as the gray stallion started to opened up the back door to his car. "Oh, ye want ta ‘elp us wit settin’ up tae magic act equipment, lad?"

"Yes, if you don’t mind, Mr. McEqqus," replied a nervous sounding Boar.

"Please, lad, call me James," said a smiling James, before he looked towards Cedric, as he saw the silver-haired stallion start to remove some tools out of the back of his car. "Tink ve can use an extra ‘and, lad?"

"If it’ll help speed up things, James, no, I don’t mind," replied, Cedric, as he removed some more stuff from his car.

James nodded, then looked back at Boar. "Just as long as ye follow our instructions, lad, ye can ‘elp us," said James with a smile. The older brunette stallion then headed for Cedric’s car. "Let me ‘elp ye wit tose, lad," he said to Cedric.

Boar stood where he was for a couple of moments. He then smiled and ran after James. "Okay," he said in a joyous tone, as he saw James reach Cedric and then watched the two older stallions start to discuss which of Cedric’s tools would actually be necessary for the job.

That night, after the sun had gone down and as the moon was beginning to rise, three young furs and a middle-age female skunkette, all wearing costumes, approached the McEqquses’ home. The three young furs were a skunkette who was dressed up as Xena; a male wolf, dressed up in a Count Dracula-like costume; and a female lop-eared bunny doe who was wearing an all-black outfit, including a hat, that made her look like a typical movie spy. The blonde haired older skunkette with the cubs, the younger skunkette’s mother, was wearing a black domino mask that covered her face instead of the glasses that she would normally wear, a blue shirt with red collar, in the center of which was placed a large red bell covered in yellow trimming with a yellow crack that ended near the top of the bell, a pair of red gloves, a black belt with a silvery belt buckle, yellow pants and blue boots, that made her look like the 1940s-era comic book heroine, Liberty Belle. As she followed the youngsters up the driveway to the house, the older skunkette noticed the fake cobweb-covered effigies that had been placed on the front lawn, including a scarecrow, a werewolf, a mummy and a gray alien.

"Hmmm, looks like the McEqquses went all out this year," commented Barbara, just as the whole group heard a loud wolf howl which lasted for several seconds. After the howling had stopped, she said, "Eddie Howl, what did you father tell you about howling at the moon?"

Eddie turned and looked at the older skunkette, just as the group heard another howl. With a very innocent look on his face, he said, "Uhm, that wasn’t me, Mrs. Smelt. Sounds like it’s coming from behind the house," replied the wolf, as he spoke with a fake Eastern European accent.

The young skunkette, her daughter Cathy, as she reached the front door, added with a slight snicker, "Yeah, mom. That wasn’t the ‘Count’ howling. He only goes like that whenever he sees Brunne in a swimsuit."

"Yeah," quickly said the canine in reply, before he blinked and quickly turned his head and looked at the now laughing young blonde mephit as she started to ring the doorbell. "Ha ha, very funny, ‘Xena’, very funny."

As ‘Liberty Belle’ giggled, the spy lapin femme, who stood before the older skunkette, added, "Hey, ‘Dracula’, that is how you react whenever you see the filly in a swimsuit," as they waited for Cathy to ring the doorbell.

"Hee hee hee, that’s so right," added Cathy as she reached the doorbell, while Holly lightly snickered and Eddie blushed a very deep red. The Xena-dressed skunkette then pressed the doorbell.

The group soon heard a very loud cackle exit the doorbell after Cathy had released it, instead of the normally heard equine whinny, thereby catching them all off guard. As the three pre-teens raised their eyebrows, Barbara chuckled. "Oh, yeah, Eva and James certainly went all out on this."

The four then saw the door slowly open. Once it was opened, they saw standing between the door jam a sexy female figure. She was a sexy looking mare who was clothed in a deep red backless bodice that had a golden color stylized-American bald eagle embossed on the breast, which lead to a silvery-looking belt that was placed across her sexy looking waist, a pair of blue shorts that was covered with several white stars and a pair of low-heel red boots that had white edging at the top and a white stripe down the middle of both. A yellow tiara with a red star in the middle was wrapped around her red hair, which, like Barbara’s, was done in a 1940s-era hairstyle, and on the hook that was placed on the aforementioned belt was placed a golden colored rope. In her right hoof was placed a large plastic bowl that contained several difference kinds of candy that she was obviously passing out to the Trick-or-Treaters that were presently walking around the neighborhood. The sexy-looking mare smiled at the four and said, "Welkommen to mein home. Ich vould show du vier mein invisible plane, except dat ich haff ne place around here vhere ich can hide it." The older mare then snickered at her joke.

"The Golden Age Wonder Mare, eh, Eva? Hee hee hee, how cute and ironic, ‘Diana’," said Barbara with a light snicker.

Eva looked at Barbara. Still snickering, she replied, "Vho ist dis Eva, ‘Libby’? Mein name ist ‘Hippolyte’, ou Vonder Mare, ne ‘Diana’. Dat’s mein daughter." She then snickers. "Or should dat be, Liberty Belle, Babs?"

The older skunkette snickered back. "It’s Liberty Belle, Wonder Mare, and you know it. Anyway, may we come in?"

Eva smiled back. "Sure, du und der kinder can come into mein house, ‘Libby’. But tell me, how are du able to see mitout ihr glasses?"

As the kids walked past Eva, after she’d had moved to the side to let them in, Barbara replied, with a very big grin, "Very simple, ‘Diana’. Contacts!" The skunkette, still smiling, then entered the McEqquses’ house herself.

"Ah, ich see," started Eva as she watched the blonde skunkette walked into her house, before she heard, "Trick or Treat?" being yelled behind her. The redheaded mare turned her head and saw standing before her a couple of grizzly bear cubs. The older male was wearing a baseball uniform, while the younger female was dressed like a ballerina. Eva smiled and then placed her hoof into the bowl, soon coming up with some candy, which she started to place into the bags that the cubs were holding before them. "Aww, don’t du zwei look cute im dose costumes," she saw to the smiling pair.

The two cubs, after looking into their bags to see what she had given them, looked up at Eva and said, with smiles, "Thank you, Wonder Mare," before they joined their mother, who was standing a short distance behind them, and then headed off towards the next house on the block.

"Auf Wiedersehen, kinder," said a now waving Eva, before she stopped waving and then closed her front door. The still smiling mare turned and saw Barbara looking at her. "Ja?" she asked the skunkette, while she walked out of the vestibule and into the main room.

"New kids on the block, ‘Diana’?" Barbara asked, as she followed Eva, soon noticing some of the other guests already within the McEqquses’ home, among whom was Whysper, who was wearing his kilts, as well as a pair of fangs, which made him look like a Pegasus vampire. He was standing in front of a bowl filled with some drink that was placed atop of a table, along with some snack foods, a plastic cup in his hoof, as well as talking to Snowy, who was wearing a French maid outfit. The smaller female Unicorn appears to be shy around the taller winged draft stallion. 'Hmm, must not be use to being around crowds?' thought the skunkette.

"Ja, dey are. Deir family moved imto der neighborhood durink der just past summer. Dey’re still tryink to fit in," replied Eva, as she stopped in front of a small table, upon which she placed the bowl of goodies. As soon as that was done, Eva felt a pair of muscular arms grab her from behind, that were soon clamped around her ample waist. "Vas ist…?" she started to say, when she felt a kiss on the back of her neck, which was quickly followed by a…

"’allo tere, Angel."

Eva lightly laughed while Barbara snickered, as she looked directly at the person who had grabbed the now laughing mare. "Steven Trevor, don’t you know better than to interrupt me and Wonder Mare while we’re talking shop?"

James, his arms tightly held around his still laughing wife’s ample waist, looked at the blonde mephit. The muscular stallion was clothed in the dress uniform of an officer of the US Army Air Forces during World War II. This included an olive drab jacket, trousers and tie, a khaki shirt, a black belt with metallic bucket, black shoes and a brown service cap with a golden eagle that he was wearing on his head. On the upper lapels of the jacket were placed a pair of U.S. cyphers and on the bottom lapels were placed a pair of propellers. On each of the jacket’s shoulders board were placed the gold oak leaves of a Major, while the eagle wings of a USSAF pilot was placed above the jacket’s left hand pocket, along with several ribbons placed above the pocket. With a light pout, he replied, "Wat, are ye sayin’ tat ah cannae kiss me angel, ‘Libby’?"

"Now ‘Steve’, cut dat out. Du might give der kinder der vrong ideas since ve’re still unmarried, ja?" said Eva, with a loud snicker. "Beside, ve’re attractink too much attention to ourselves as it ist," she added, before she nodded her head in Whysper and Snowy’s direction, as the pair were looking at them and Barbara.

James looked at the pair, noticing that the Unicorn femme was blushing while the stallion was smiling at them and giving the pair a big thumb up. James snickered, then looked at Eva. "Whysper be knowin’ us long enough tae know ‘ow ve feel aboot each other, lass." The brunette Clydesdale then kissed Eva once again on the cheek, while the skunkette snickered.

As she was kissed, the mare quickly replied, "Alright, ‘Steve’ du vin." The mare then whinnied lightly as James pulled her muscular body even closer to his. "Just try not to give der youngsters lookink at us der vrong impression, ja?"

The brunette stallion raises an eyebrow as he ended his kissing of Eva’s neck. He then looked to his right. James quickly noticed Cathy, Holly and Eddie, who were presently standing behind a large steel tub filled with water and apples, looking at them, while another, younger cub, or rather male sheep with curly black wooly hair and white wool skin, and wearing a white skirt and sandals of an Ancient Athenian male child, who was presently bobbing for apples.

James smiled at the children, then said to Eva, "So wat, angel, ah be simply showin’ ye me affection."

Eva started to snicker. "Right. Show me any more affection und ich’ll haff to take du to our room und drain dat growink trouser lizard off ihrs, ‘Steve’."

James snorts lightly, as first the mare and then the skunkette snickered at Eva’s comment on how tightly James was holding her against his body, before he reluctantly released her.

After another light chuckle, Eva looked at Barbara and said, "Come on Belle, I’d might as vell introduce du to some of our other freunds."

"Sure," said a smiling Barbara, as she watched Eva walk towards Whysper and the still blushing Snowy, before she followed the sexy mare. The approaching pair soon noticed that Whysper and Snowy had just been joined by another Clydesdale stallion, one who was presently dressed up like a knight, or rather, a knight’s steed.

A grumbling James soon followed the pair over to the table to join the others. He reached them, just as his wife was introducing the blonde skunkette to the other three equines.

The aforementioned young ram, Helena’s son, Jason, still had his face in the water, trying to catch an apple with his teeth, as Holly, Eddie and Cathy watched. As they watched Jason’s mouth get closer to an apple, they talked among themselves.

"Seems Brunne’s folks like to cuddle a lot," commented Cathy, as she now watched the two equines and her mother talk with the male pegasus, the female uni and the other male Clydesdale.

"So?" replied Eddie as he watched a wet faced Jason finally come up for air, an apple in his mouth. "Hey, congratulation, Jason, you got an apple." He smiled at the now smiling young ram, then looked over at Cathy. "I mean we see them do it all the time."

"I know, I know. I see my folks do it too. I just wonder if it’ll be the same after I’d been married as long as they’d been," the young skunkette replied, while the ram, after taking a bite, took the apple out of his mouth.

Holly and Eddie, as Jason chewed his just bitten apple bit, looked at Cathy. They saw her looking ahead, obviously daydreaming.

"Oh boy, here we go again. ‘Madame Fifi La Fume’ is at it again," said a sarcastic sounding Holly. "I’m surprised you’re dressed up as Xena and not her, Cathy."

The young skunkette looked at the lop-ear doe. She harrumphs. "Hey, careful there, ‘Raven’, Fifi’s my older cousin, remember? Besides, I can’t help it if I like guys." Cathy then looked at the still eating Jason, who had just taken another bite from his apple, while Eddie, who now stood in front of the tub, looked like he was about ready to put his head into it. She sighs. "If only ‘Paris’ was just a few years older," she said, commenting on his developing physique.

Jason blinked upon hearing Cathy’s comment, before spitting the apple piece out of his mouth. He looked over at the presently smiling skunkette. As he wiped his wet face with his wooly arm, while the others laugh, he commented, "Hey, don’t even think about it, ‘Fifi’. I am so NOT into girls. They are so yucky."

"Awwww, but you look so hunky, ‘Paris’," commented Cathy, still smiling. "I can’t wait to see what you look like when you’re my age." The others laughed at her comment.

As Jason shook his head in obvious disbelief, a hoof on his forehead, Holly commented, "‘Fifi’, definitely ‘Fifi’," which provoked another harrumph from the skunkette.

Eddie also shook his head. The canine then looked at Jason. "Hey, Jason, where tat pretty twin sis of yers, Medea?"

Jason, while trying to ignore the once again smiling Cathy, turned and looked at Eddie. "Medea? Oh, she’s upstairs with Brunne. She’s helping her with her costume." The ram then scratched his wooly head. "Or, was it to have Brunne help her with her homework. Anyway, it’s one or the other," the ram said, before he stopped scratching his head. He then proceeded to take another bite from his apple, just as a male piglet started to take his turn at the tub, thus making Eddie have to wait his turn.

Upstairs, in Brunne’s room, the young filly stood before a mirror that was placed above her bedroom’s desk, presently looking at her reflection. Brunne saw herself wearing a long flowing white dress with a U-shaped collar that revealed part of her developing cleavage. Her red mane was coiffured, with a 1940s style hair-do, like her mother’s. Atop her mane was placed a golden emeralds-studded tiara. She wore on her neck a diamond-studded necklace and on her ears a pair of double hooves-shaped earrings. The filly continued looking at herself in the mirror and sighed. "You know, this is so not me, even if it is Halloween," she commented.

"Come on, Brunne, stop being so serious for once," replied the white ewe that stood behind her, who was presently holding onto the train of the filly’s princess costume. The young ewe, Jason’s twin sister, Medea, who had black wooly hair and ears like her mother, Helena, was dressed in a black Ancient Greek pelop dress with some white lines across the top, middle and bottom of the dress that appears to look like flowing ocean waves. "Just try to have some fun tonight, okay?"

Brunne, as she adjusted the tiara on her red mane, turned and looked at Medea. "What do you mean by that, Medea? I’m always having fun," replied Brunne, although she had a long frown on her pretty face.

"Sport wise, yeah, you do have fun, Brunne, but, I mean just letting yourself go in something that doesn’t involves sports. In other words, relax," replied Medea.

"Relax? Me? Care to explain?"

"Sure. You’re problem is that almost all of the kids, both here in the neighborhood and at your school, look up to you. Therefore, you don’t want to do anything that might make you look silly in their eyes. And that’s especially if you’re doing something non-athletic that everyone else would consider fun. So, am I right, Brunne?" The young ewe then smiled at the filly.

Brunne shrugged and then looked back at the mirror. Still frowning, she said, "I guess," before going quiet for a moment.

"No guess, you are. So tonight, try not to be yourself. Try acting like a princess and just go out and enjoy yourself."

The filly, still looking at the mirror, thought it over for a while, seconds before she placed a light blue sash with the words ‘Princess’ written upon it in big gray letters, across her body, from her right shoulder down to her left hip. She then said, with a light chuckle, "Okay, Medea, or rather, Madame Freud, you win. I’ll try to not be myself tonight."

The ewe smiled, then giggled. "Good, Brunne. I’m sure you won’t regret it."

"We’ll see, Medea, we’ll see." Brunne said, after she’d adjusted her tiara once again, trying to get it just the way she wanted it. Once she had it in place, the redheaded filly turned around and then headed for her room’s door, shortly followed by the younger ewe as she lifted up the dress’ train, acting as if she was the Princess’ main lady-in-waiting. The pair soon exited the room, and then started to walk down the stairs. Their descent was quickly noticed.

Cathy, Eddie and Jason were all looking at the tub, watching Holly try to catch an apple with her mouth, when they heard a few footsteps coming down the stairs that just happened to be behind them. The trio quickly turned their heads and then saw Brunne coming down the steps clad in the ‘Princess’ outfit that she’d bought a few days ago at the costume store, her dress’ train being held by Medea, who was dressed like an Ancient Greek Goddess. Cathy was the first one to comment on Brunne’s appearance.

"Hey, ‘Count Barkula’, looks like your princess is coming down the stairs with her entourage," quipped the skunkette in a teasing tone.

As Medea and Jason both tried to stifle some chuckles and Brunne rolled her eyes, a now blushing lupin said, as he looked at Brunne, "So, I noticed."

Brunne, who was looking directly at the trio as she reached the landing, said, "Uhm, hi guys, sorry for the delay, but it took me a lot longer than I’d expected to get this dress on." She then turned and walked down the last few steps, soon followed by Medea.

"That’s okay your highness, just as long as you’re finally among us," replied Eddie in his faux Eastern European accent, while smiling at Brunne, as Jason and Cathy both tried to stifle some more chuckles, and Holly came up from the tub, an apple in her mouth.

Brunne, as she approached the others, blushed. "Please, guys, don’t embarrass me like that," she said to them.

Holly, as she now held the apple in one of her paws, looked at the others. She said, "Embarrass, you, ‘Princess’? Parish the thought." The young lop-ear lapin then took a big bite out of the apple.

"Embarrass you, Brunne? Whatever for?" added Cathy, a big grin on her face, before she placed her left arm around the young filly’s right shoulder and her neck. "Besides, we’re your best friends. If anyone is going to rag on you, it’s going to be us." The young skunkette then smiled.

"Gee, thanks," Brunne said, while rolling her eyes.

"Remember, Brunne, have fun," said Medea from behind the filly, her hooves still holding up the train of Brunne’s costume.

"Yeah, ‘Wonder bab…’ oops, I mean, ‘Princess’, come on and have some fun. In fact, why don’t ya take a turn at bobbing for apples?" asked Eddie, a very friendly smile on his face.

"Yeah," added Jason, after he’d finished eating the apple that he’d caught earlier.

Brunne looked at Eddie, while Jason threw the apple core into a nearby trash bag. She then looked at the tub. The filly turned her head and looked at the smiling young ewe. Brunne then looked back at the tub, shrugged and said, "Okay, if it’ll make everybody happy." After Medea had released the train of her princess outfit and Cathy released the filly’s neck and shoulder, Brunne headed for the tub.

"That’s the spirit," said a smiling Cathy as the other cubs looked at Brunne as she now stood before the water and apple-filled tub.

Brunne looked inside the tub, seeing the several apples that were still bobbing in the water. The filly then placed her hooves on the sides of the tub, and after a few seconds had passed, dunked her head into the water and started trying to catch one of the apples that was nearest to her with her strong teeth. She missed after several attempts, as the apples that she did catch with her mouth would then slip out of her mouth when she tried to bite into them with her teeth. 'Come on, Brunne, you can do this,' she thought to herself, now very determined to catch an apple.

As she tried to get an apple, the other cubs cheered her on.

"Come on ‘Wonder Girl’, ya can do it," said Eddie.

"Come on Brunne, get it," added Cathy, before she placed her fingers into her mouth and started to whistle.

"Yeah, you can do it, Brunne," announced Medea with a grin.

"You can do it, Brunne," added Holly in a sort of monotone voice, before she proceeded to eat some more of the apple that she’d caught earlier.

Brunne kept moving her head inside the tub, trying to catch an apple that was now in front of her, as her head, tiara and earrings got wetter with each head movement. 'Come on, blast it…' she started to think, when she felt something inside her mouth. The filly swiftly bit down on the object and then quickly pulled her head out of the tub. As she heard cheers erupt all around her, while feeling water drip down her red mane and face onto her neck, shoulders and the upper part of her costume, Brunne opened her still closed eyes and discovered an apple stuck in her now wide-open mouth.

"Alright, Brunne," said a smiling Jason.

"I knew you could do it, Brunne," added a clapping Cathy, as a grinning Brunne proceeded to take the apple out of her mouth.

Congrats, Brunne," Medea said, with a big smile on her pretty face.

"What she said," added Holly, before taking another bite from her apple.

"Alright, ‘Princess’, ya did it!" yelled a very enthusiastic Eddie before he approached her and gave the still developing filly an affectionate hug.

Brunne blinked several times as she felt Eddie’s arms wrapped themselves around her athletic waist, while the other cubs snickered at the present proceedings. "Uhm, ‘Count’, I didn’t exactly give you permission to hug your ‘Princess’ now did I?" the young filly asked with a light chuckle, while the other kits laughed a little louder, as they looked at the pair.

Eddie blinked. He then looked at the snickering filly. The wolf then blushed a very deep red, as he let her go. "Oopps, hee hee, sorry," he said. "Ah sometimes forget myself." He then heard the other kits laugh even harder.

The filly looked at the young lupin. She smiled at him. "That’s okay, you silly bow wow." She then moved towards Eddie, wrapped her arms around his strong neck and kissed Eddie’s cheek. As the others watched the lupin blushed an even deeper shade of red from the kiss, Brunne heard the other cubs go "Aaaawwwww!" The filly ended the kiss, released Eddie, then turned and went to a nearby table to get a towel to wipe dry the still wet upper part of her body and costume, before even more water dripped downwards and starts to make the costume opaque, revealing the black bra that she was wearing underneath it. As she did, the others continued to give Eddie a hard time, while Medea placed her hooves upon the tub, as she was now planning to take a turn at the apples in the tub.

As most of the kids continued to tease Eddie, while Brunne was wiping herself clean with a towel and Medea was now bobbing for apples, they were being watched by the adults who had been talking among themselves just moments before they’d saw Brunne and Medea walked down the stairs and then watched Brunne start to bob for apples.

"Seems tat ye’s young lass be developin’ intae a fine lookin’ young lassie, James me lad. Ah hate ta be tae young lad whose heart she’ll break wen she be older," commented Whysper, as they all watched Brunne put the towel down and then started to rejoin the others. The Pegasus stallion then started to drink the punch that he was holding in his hooves.

"Yeah," added the armor-clad Mythic Steed. The tall chestnut-haired Clydesdale stallion with flaxen mane and tail, who also had a broad white strip going down his long muzzle, blue eyes and white socks on his hooves and feet, and holding in one of his hooves a small cup filled with juice, then said, "Although it’ll probably be the lucky stallion who’ll eventually marry her." He smiled at James, then proceeded to drink the juice that was inside the cup.

James looked at the Pegasus, then the Clydesdale stallion. He then said to the pair in a matter-of-fact tone, "Ah ‘ate ta disappoint ye lads, but me young lass already ‘as a boyfriend."

The two stallions blinked, before Mythic spitted the juice that he had been drinking out of his mouth, while Eva snickered as she watched their reactions to James’ statement. The pair looked at James. "Who would that be?" the pair asked the stallion in unisom.

James looked at the two. He turned around a little and then pointed at Eddie, who was presently talking with Brunne. "Tae wolf cub tat be talkin’ wit ‘er right now."

Whysper and Mythic and the other equines looked at the two kits, while Whysper and Mythic’s eyes blinked in surprise once again. They saw the two kits presently laughing, obviously at a joke that one of them had just told the other.

Snowy, who presently stood with a still snickering Eva, and Barbara, commented, "My, don’t they make a charming couple?"

Eva, after she had finally stopped laughing, looked at her daughter and Eddie. She said, "Ja, dey do, don’t dey?" The older mare then smiled at the smaller Unicorn femme, before sipping the drink that she was holding in her hooves.

Barbara snickered. "Yeah, they do, don’t they? Anyway, ‘Diana’, when is the ‘magic act’ supposed to start?"

"Magic act?" asked Snowy.

"Magic act?" Whysper also asked.

"There’s going to be a magic act?" queried Mythic, a little confused.

Eva looked at the trio. After she had stopped drinking and then removed the cup from her mouth, she said, "Ja, un magic act." She then looked at the skunkette. "It’ll start sometime after Jessica and her guests have arrived, ‘Libby’." Just then, a loud cackling sound was heard reverberating throughout the house, quickly getting everyone’s attention. "Hmm, must be some more Trick-und-Treaters," commented Eva. The mare then added, with a snicker, as she adjusted her costume, "Iff du all vill excuse me, ich do believe dat Wonder Mare ist needed at her front door."

"Go get them, ‘Diana’," said Barbara with a grin, as a chuckling Eva got the bowl full of candy from its table and then headed for the door, while avoiding a white drafter with gray fetlocks and mane who was dressed up as Iron Chef Morimoto. "Oh, ich vill, ‘Libby’," Eva said, as she began to enter the vestibule. She then reached the front door. After placing the bowl of goodies in her right hoof, she placed her left upon the doorknob and started to open the door. Once the door was opened, she looked ahead to see who was standing before her.

Before Eva stood four female figures. The four figures were a vixen, two rabbit does and an ewe. Eva quickly recognized them as being Violet, her partner, Jessica, and her cousin Abagail, and Helena. The two does and the vixen were dressed up as witches, wearing black dresses and conical-like hats, although the front of Jessica’s dress had a V-shaped neckline that plunged very deeply downwards until it went past her navel, revealing most of her well-formed cleavage, while Abagail and Violet’s dresses appeared to be a bit more conservative. Helena, meanwhile, wore a short-sleeved purple bodice with a laced corset that revealed the upper part of her sexy cleavage, a waist tightening metallic belt, and a long, red skirt, decorated with several reclining griffins; on her sexy neck was placed a long necklace made of pearls, beads of lapis lazuli and carnelian; a pair of bronze armlets, both studded with small pieces of silver and gold; and, finally, a pair of fake snakes that were wrapped around both of her arms, thus making her look like the spitting image of the Ancient Minoan Mother Goddess statue. "Trick or Treat?" the foursome said in unisom to Eva, each smiling at the mare.

Eva snickered. "About time du vier got here. Ich vas about ready to get into mein invisible plane und start lookink for du," the buxom redheaded mare teased the foursome, before she moved to the side. As she watched the four femmes walked into her house, Eva asked Helena, "Vhere’s ist Philip, O mother goddess?"

As the two rabbit does and the vixen walked past Eva, Helena looked at the mare, and said, "Philip is still getting dressed, Eva. He’ll be here shortly." The ewe then smiled.

"Gut," said a smiling Eva, as she watched Helena slink sexily into her house. After seeing that no Trick-or-Treaters were presently approaching her house, the buxom mare closed the front door, then locked it. She then turns and headed for the table where she had originally retrieved the bowl of candy, to put it back. After having done that, she walked over towards Jessica, Abagail and Violet, while noticing Helena approaching the cubs, obviously to check up on her twin little lambs. Eva stopped before the afformentioned trio, as they began to pour themselves a cup of punch. "So, are du drei ready for der magic act?"

Violet looked at Eva. "Oui, as soon as moi have had a chance to check moi’s equipment, Madame Eva. Anyway, Monsieur Cedric is here, oui?"

The mare nodded. She then turned around and started to look for Cedric. She soon found the gray stallion. He was dressed up like a European aristocratic male of the 1920s and 1930s, wearing a black top hat, a monocle covering his right eye, black jacket, vest and pants, a white shirt and red tie, and black shoes. Cedric was at the moment speaking with Boss Hoss, who was dress in a white outfit, with a fake horn protruding from the middle of his forehead, and a fake goatee on his chin, thus making him look like the traditional view of a male Unicorn. Pointing towards him, she looked back at the older vixen and said, "He’s over dere, Madame Violet."

Violet followed Eva’s hoof and noticed the two talking stallions. She nodded, then looked at Eva and said, "Pardon moi, ma ami," before she started to sashayed towards the duo.

The mare watched her walked away, quickly noticing that the back of Violet’s witch’s outfit plunged very deeply down her back until about half of it was shown to public view, much to the delight of the few unmarried male vulpines who were presently at the party. The mare snickered lightly. "Guess she’s not as conservative as ich dought she vas iff she’s goink to be dressink up like dat," commented the mare, before she walked towards Jessica. After she had reached the bunny doe, the pair were soon talking over studio-related business.

Violet snickered lightly as she heard Eva’s comment about the back of her costume, before she stopped before Cedric and Boss Hoss. She looked at Hoss first. "Excuse moi, mon ami, but do you mind if I take zis handsome stallion off of your hooves for un moment?" she asked Boss in a sexy sounding voice. The older vixen then smiled at the much younger stallion, while waiting for his reply.

Boss turned and saw Violet, as did Cedric. The bay stallion’s mouth literally dropped open as he looked at the sexy-looking older vixen in the witch’s outfit. He stared blankly at her before finally saying, "Uhm, sure."

Violet smiled at the stunned Hoss. With a light chuckle, she said, "Merci beaucoup, Monsieur." She then looked at Cedric. "So, have you set up everything for moi’s magic act, Monsieur Cedric?" she asked the gray Clydesdale.

Cedric, as he suppressed a chuckle as he saw Hoss’ reaction to Violet’s appearance, answered, "Yeah, I did. It’s out back by the pool, ready to be used. Does Madame Violet want to inspect my handiwork?" Cedric then offered her his right arm.

Violet smiled. The older vixen wrapped her left around the gray stallion’s proffered right arm. "Oui, mon ami, please show Madame Violet where you have placed her magic equipment. If moi likes what she sees, moi might give you a big reward after ze party is over," she said with a smile. As she spoke, her fluffy red tail began to move along Cedric’s right leg.

Cedric felt Violet’s arm wrapped itself around his and then her tail rubbing his leg. Smiling at this, as he heard her comment, the stallion replied with a low chuckle, as he started to lead her towards the kitchen and the backyard. He then said, "Oh, I’m sure that you will be satisfied with the arrangements that I’d made, Madame Violet."

"Oh, moi will be ze judge of zat, handsome," the vixen said in a teasing tone as she walked alongside Cedric, her tail still rubbing along his leg.

The pair soon entered the kitchen.

Boss, his mouth still wide-open, watched the pair leave, noticing the vixen’s exposed backside because of the low plunging back of her costume. It was just a little while longer before he felt a paw tap him upon his shoulder, shortly followed by a light shake. He then heard a voice behind him. "Excuse me, sir, but I really think that you should put your eyes back into your head before someone else notices." After a few more light shakes, Boss finally turned his head. He saw standing in front of him, Abagail.

The young lapin, who was also wearing a witch’s costume, and with her arms behind her back, looked at the bay stallion, then said, "Uhm, I guess my boss made quite an impression on you, didn’t she?"

"Uhm, yeah," replied a still stupefied Boss after a while.

"I’m not surprised," said Abagail with a chuckle. "Anyway, my name is Abagail. Abagail Thornhopper. I’m Violet’s assistant. And you are?" The rabbit doe then offered a paw for Boss to shake, while her other arm went to her side.

The stallion looked at the buxom young doe, then at the proffered paw. He took it, and then shook it firmly. As he did, Boss said, with a slight blush, "Hello, Abagail, I’m Hoss, Boss Hoss. And yes, she did." He then asked her, as he released her paw, "You’re her assistant, huh? Uhm, doing what, if you don’t mind my asking?"

"Magic acts," the lapin said proudly. "Violet’s a magician and I’m her assistant. In fact, we’re suppose to be performing a magic show later tonight. I’m guessing that why she’d went with Cedric just now, since he’s suppose to be helping us with setting up our equipment for the act tonight." She then placed her paws once more behind her back.

"Really, a magician’s assistant? So, what’s it like being a magician’s assistant, if the pretty bunny doesn’t mind me asking her?" queried the curious stallion with a smile.

Abagail raised her ears in surprised. She then smiled back at Boss, with a light blush on her cheeks. "Sure, Boss. Just depends on what you want to know, first."

Boss smiled back, then started to quiz Abagail, while listening to the bunny doe’s answers.

Meantime, Cedric was leading Violet to the McEqquses’ backyard, where he, James and Boar-Ral, had earlier set up the equipment for the magic act, via the equines’ kitchen. Upon reaching the door, he released Violet’s arm and then walked to it. He opened the door, step to the side and said, "After moi, Madame." He gave Violet a very warm smile as he did.

The vixen smiled back. "Bonsoir, mon ami," she said to Cedric, as she walked towards the now open door. As she walked past the gray stallion, her tail slid across his crotch. The vulpine snickered lightly as she did it, before she had finally walked past him.

Cedric gulped slightly as he felt her tail move across his crotch. He then snickered lightly before walking through the door himself, while saying, "Naughty Witch."

Violet snickered lightly in reply, before she started to look around the equines’ backyard. The vixen saw that the backyard was well lit. She then saw that it included a tarp-covered pool, a well kept garden, as well as a clean walkway, upon which were presently several people, all of whom were dancing, including a rather tall and muscular looking female Clydesdale who was wearing the white cotton dress of an Ancient Egyptian queen. Violet continued to look around, soon noticing to her left a large table upon which was placed some musical equipment, including a couple of record players. Behind the table stood another stallion who was dressed up like a DJ and who was presently playing some music, to which the others were dancing.

Cedric walked toward the looking around vixen. He soon noticed the tall mare, Pakesh-de. She was presently dancing with a big male bear, who was wearing a sheriff’s outfit. The mare soon noticed him. She smiled at Cedric, then gave him a quick wink, as she continued to dance with the bruin. Cedric smiled back at the mare, but he then tapped Violet’s left shoulder.

Violet hmmmed before she turned to face Cedric.

The stallion, after Violet had turned to look at him, pointed to her right. "The magic equipment is over there, ‘O mistress of the night’." Cedric smiled as he made his quip.

Violet turned her head, and swiftly saw the equipment for her magic show: A small wooden table, a standing wooden box, another wooden box that was set atop a steel rolling cart, a saw which was placed atop the box on the rolling cart, along with several sharp looking blades. The vixen nodded her head, then walked towards the equipment, soon followed by the stallion. Violet reached the equipment. She then started to look the equipment over, soon stopping in front of the cart. As Cedric watched, Violet picked up one of the blades. The vixen placed a finger along both sides of the blade and lightly moved them along the blade’s edge, trying to see if it was as sharp as it should be. Once she was convinced that it was, she put it back atop the box. Violet then went to the standing box, which would be used in the disappearing act. After reaching it, she opened the door, then walked inside it. The vixen then started to check it to be sure that the box would appear to be as strong as it should appear for the act.

As he watched Violet look the box over, Cedric, as the music in the background went from Hip Hop to some early Rock n Roll music, asked her, "By the way, Madame Violet, where’s your top hat for the ‘Pulling the Rabbit out of the Hat’ Trick?"

Violet stopped looking the box over. She turned to look at Cedric. The vixen smiled at him, removed her hat, thus revealing her gray hair, which was done up in a 1930s female hairstyle. "My top hat?" Violet said, as she snapped her witch’s hat in front of her, which transferred it into a magician’s top hat. "Why, moi do believe right here, dear Cedric. So, any other questions, Monsieur?" She then smiled at Cedric, before she snapped it back into her witch’s hat.

Cedric, as he watched her turned her witch’s hat into a top hat and back again, first raised an eyebrow, then placed his hooves together and gave Violet a nice little applause for her trick. "Nice trick, Violet. I bet it saves you some money on wardrobe changes, eh?"

Violet smiled, then bowed in front of the stallion. "Merci, Cedric," she said, as she and the stallion started to hear some claps behind them. The vixen raised her upper body up, then the two looked ahead and saw standing in front of them a clapping Pakesh-de.

"Nice trick you’d pulled there, Ms. I’m guessing that this stuff all belong to you?" asked the curious, tall female Clydesdale, as she looked at Violet and Cedric.

Violet looked at the mare. As she put her hat back upon her head, she answered, "Why, yes it does, Madame. Moi am Violet Vixen, Female Magician Extraordinaire, and later tonight, mon assistants et moi will be putting on a magic show." The vixen then walked out of the box, turned around and then closed it shut.

Cedric nodded in agreement. "That’s right. She is."

The mare raised an eyebrow when she heard that. "Magic act, eh?" Was this Mrs. McEqqus’ idea?" Pakesh-de queried. "Oh, by the way, my name is Pakesh-de."

Cedric smiled back. He bowed in front of the mare. "Cedric Dechevaux, at your service, Madame."

Violet chuckled a little. "Actually, zis was ze idea of ma assistant’s cousin, Mrs. Thumper, Eva’s co-partner. She use to be my assistant as well, when she was younger," replied the older vixen, as she walked towards the metal table with the box for the sawing-the-woman-in-half act, to make sure that it wouldn’t collapse during the act. She stopped in front of it, and started to check it over. As she did, she didn’t realize that the now upright stallion was looking at her sexy bare backside.

The mare blinked as she saw Cedric looking at Violet’s backside, although she was surprised to see that Violet looked so young for someone who must be at least in her early sixties. After a light shrug, she said, "I see. Though I am curious about one thing."

Violet turned from the table and looked at Pakesh-de. "Oh? And zat would be?"

"Well, where is your magician’s wand?" asked the tall Clydesdale mare.

Cedric nodded. "You know, I was wondering about that myself, Mistress Violet."

Violet looked at the pair. She smiled, then chuckled. She took her hat off her head, then turned it back into her magician’s hat. The vixen said a few words, before she placed a paw inside the hat. As the equines watched, she moved her paw inside the hat, and soon smiled as she stopped. "A hah!" Violet yelled, as she pulled out a long black stick with white at the top. Smiling, she said, "There we go, one magician’s wand," before she placed her hat atop the box, and then the wane across the top of her hat."

As the stallion smiled, the tall mare blinked in disbelief. It was a while before she queried, "Ho-ho-how did you do that?"

Violet, still smiling, before she turned to check the table, answered, "Why, Pakesh-de, you should know zat a good magician never reveals his or hers secrets, isn’t zat right, Cedric?" She then turned her head and winked at the stallion, before going back to the table, before she started to take another look at the box.

"Yes, that’s the rules," said Cedric with a smile, as he continued to look at Violet as she looked the box over.

Pakesh-de looked at Cedric. In an almost pleading tone, she said to him, "Come on, please, tell me. How did she do it?"

Cedric shook his head, causing his mane to move back and forth as he did. "Sorry, ma’am, but it’s not my secret to reveal, even if I knew it. It’s hers." He then pointed towards Violet.

Violet had by then finished checking the table. She said, as she turned to face the pair, "Yes, it’s moi secret, et moi does not want to reveal it, Madam. Sorry. Anyway, Monsieur Cedric, ze table looks fine. Once moi have gotten mein assistants et we have changed our clothes, we will be performing ze magic show."

As the mare pouted in disappointment, more determined than ever to find out how Violet had made her hat change its shape and then made the wand appear from inside it, she heard Cedric say, with a smile, "That’s good to hear, Madame Violet."

"Oui," said a smiling Violet. "Et moi will be thanking moi later tonight, Monsieur, but, for now, would tu care to dance with moi?"

Cedric blinked in surprised to Violet’s query. "Dance, but I thought?"

Violet snickered in answer to Cedric’s question. "Moi have plenty of time to perform her magic, but right now, moi want to have some fun." She then smiled at the stallion.

The stallion thought things over for a couple of seconds. He then shrugged his strong shoulders. "Okay, I’ll dance with you, Madame Violet." Cedric then smiled back at the vixen.

Violet, still smiling, grabbed Cedric’s nearest hoof and started to lead the gray stallion towards the other couples who were still dancing to the playing music, while a few others were either talking among themselves, either standing up or in the chairs that were provided for sitting down.

Violet’s sudden move caught Cedric off-guard. "Hey, slow down, Violet," he said to the vixen as she dragged him along, before he was finally able to catch his steps.

Pakesh-de looked at the table where Violet had earlier placed her hat and wand. As she did, she mused, 'Now, how was she able to do those tricks?' The female Clydesdale then looked at the aforementioned hat and wand, while the vixen and stallion started to dance to the music that Dark Horse was presently playing, along with the others that were still in the equines’ backyard. 'I am going to find out how she was able to pull them off, no matter what!' thought a very determined mare, before she turned and started to head for an empty chair to sit down and rest herself.
